Cheeky is an Australian Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo, which can be found in Western Australia. I’ve not seen one in real life but apparently they have a very distinctive bird call.
I painted a pair of each bird because I like that they have a friend. These Carnaby’s look lovely and fluffy with the beautiful texture of thick oil paints. I use palette knives to create the texture, including adding it in the background of my pieces.
