Meet Max, a happy Aussie Magpie. The Australian Magpie is a very well known bird found all across Australia. The magpie is often a friendly bird except for breeding season, when they become quite aggressive if you get too close to their nests.
I painted a pair of each bird because I like that they have a friend. I use thick oil paint and palette knives to create the texture, including adding it in the background of my pieces.
