Pretty Priscilla, the Swift Parrot, is a critically endangered bird. It breeds in Tasmania and migrates to the mainland for winter. These parrots are full of bright colours and I have used a soft peach for the background to balance their bright plumage.
I painted a pair of each bird because I like that they have a friend. I use thick oil paint and palette knives to create the texture, including adding it in the background of my pieces.
Medium: Oil paints
Technique: Palette knife
Dimensions: Cradled wooden panel is 20cm x 20cm
Framing: Unframed but ready to hang or stand on a shelf.
